Orphan (R)

Yeah, there's something wrong with Esther.

And you better friggen believe it.

This movie takes you on what is one of the wildest, craziest, thrilling movie experiences of your life. This isn't the same cheesy horror flick you rented last week out of boredom. This is a whole 'nother league.

The beginning of the movie makes you really wonder if you're really in here to see a scary flick... (after the first scene that is) But pay close attention. There are some very subtle hints hiding in the first half hour that they purposely dumbed down to keep you distracted.

The movie sets it up to the point where you feel for the family and you even begin to feel for Esther. Just a poor Orphan girl trying to find a home. Yet by the end of the movie, you'll be left wondering if she's even a girl anymore.

As far as horror critique...
Jumpers arent predictable. Most of them catch you off guard and by the time you can take a breath you're back out of your seat.

The movie in general is set up very well. You are almost tricked into feeling for Esther just as much as her family is. For a lot of the film, you see the events at the same time they do for the first time. You're always following somebody; never just Esther herself. It add's a nice little twist and makes the movie very interesting.

No spoilers here, but let me say, this is one of the best endings to any movie I have ever seen.

Can you keep a secret?
Orphan is now playing at a theater near you!
